The Missing is a British drama television series. It premiered on October 28, 2014 on BBC One in the UK, and in the US on Starz on 15 November 2014. The eight-part series was written by Harry and Jack Williams and directed by Tom Shankland. It stars James Nesbitt as Tony Hughes, the father of a boy missing in France, and Tchéky Karyo as Julien Baptiste, a retired French detective put in charge of leading the case.

A second series has been commissioned which will feature a new case.

Summary[]

When five year-old Oliver Hughes disappears while on holiday in France, it sets off a nearly decade-long search for his whereabouts. This dramatic thrilled takes you inside the mind of Tony Hughes, his father, who is desperate to locate his lost son.

With help from a famous detective, Tony embarks on an obsessive quest to find his son and those responsible for his disappearance. Tony's exhaustive search fractures his relationship with his wife, Emily Hughes, and threatens to destroy his life.
